Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to Westwood with Iford primary school.  I am proud to be the Executive Headteacher of this vibrant village school.  As you look through our website you will see a little of everything that the school has to offer giving you a glimpse of what your child(ren) will experience through their school life with us.

We believe in ensuring that children receive a well-rounded curriculum that provides opportunities to develop characteristics for effective learning and life in all its fullness, whilst enabling children’s passion for learning to flourish. 

Our family feel with small classes and a high staff ratio mean that children’s individual talents can be spotted and nurtured enabling everyone to experience success and reach their full potential.  The children benefit from a dedicated staff team who work tirelessly to ensure that the children reach high standards whilst feeling happy and supported because we believe that happy children achieve more!

We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school with you being an active partner in your child’s education.  This successful relationship with parents, the local community and the other schools within Palladian Academy Trust, means that we can continue to ‘Inspire success in a world of possibilities’.

We are excited to be a ‘school of no grading’ this is because we are considered to be a new school following our conversion to Palladian Academy Trust in July 2022.  We are ‘not what it says on the tin’ Westwood has radically improved since the last published Ofsted report so we urge you to come and see the jewel nestled in the village of Westwood just outside of Trowbridge.  We are really looking forward to meeting you and showing you around our amazing school.
