Governors
The Governing Body exists to provide strategic oversight to the way the school is run and to be accountable for the decisions made by it. We have one over-riding purpose: to help make Westwood with Iford the best place for our children to learn.
On 1st October 2019 Fitzmaurice Primary School became part of Palladian Academy Trust. In January 2022 the Trust started working with Westwood with Iford Primary School who formally joined the Trust on 1st July 2022.

The Trust Board convenes Local Governance Committees, which work with specific schools and have delegated responsibilities from the Trust Board, in order to ensure the non-executive of the Trust fulfils the three core purposes of governance which are:
-
ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
-
holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff; and
-
overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
The Local Governance Committee (LGC) also has a role in engaging with all stakeholders in the school(s) and wider community.
As Westwood with Iford Primary School (WWI) and Fitzmaurice Primary School (FPS) have a shared executive leadership structure, in order to ensure joined up decision-making and that all the relevant context is taken into account to make the best provision for the children, from February 2023 the LGCs from the two schools combined into a single committee, with responsibility for both schools.
The Chair of the FPSWWI LGC is Bryony Green.
