Pupil leadership
At Westwood with Iford, we are proud to have an enthusiastic School Council made up of pupils elected by their classmates. The Council gives children a meaningful voice in school life, helping to share ideas, make decisions, and contribute to positive changes across our school community.
School Council

What is good about being on the School Council?
The good thing about being on the School Council is that we can make changes and we are in charge of running our own events.
We use Smart School Councils website software to set up our questions and then deliver the assemblies in class. This means that every child has a vote in the decisions. We also record any comments from the assemblies and decide if we can make them into an action.
We usually meet weekly and have a working lunch to decide what the next class assembly should be.
At the beginning of the year, the children in school voted on a charity that they would like to support. We have previously fund-raised and gave donations of bedding and blankets to Bath Cats and Dogs Home in Bath, Dorothy House Hospice and Keyford Hedgehog Rescue..

This year, we will be raising money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. In October they visited us for an assembly.

Thank you.
